Simple Chocolate Cake

Directions Cake:

  1. Place butter sugar and vanilla in bowl and beat until light and fluffy
  2. Gradually beat in eggs
  3. Sift flour, coca and baking soda in a bowl
  4. Fold flour mixture and milk alternately into egg mixture
  5. Pour mixture into greased and lined 18cm square tin
  6. 180 degree oven for 40 mins
  7. Leave in tin 5 mins before turning out

Directions Icing:

  1. Place chocolate, butter and cream in heatproof bowl over saucepan of simmering water
  2. heat, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth
  3. cool slightly and spread over cake
